Bronchos Host UNK Thursday At Hamilton

Central Oklahoma Returns Home After Four-Game Road Trip

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma makes its return home for just the third game of the new year as the Bronchos host Nebraska Kearney Thursday at 7:30 p.m. inside Hamilton Field House.
 
Central Oklahoma comes into this week's matchup with a 9-8 overall record and a 3-5 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos are aiming to build a win streak after snapping a three-game slide its last time out. UCO is 7-3 in Edmond this season.
 
Nebraska Kearney is 6-9 overall and 4-3 in the MIAA. The Lopers from Kearney, Neb. look to return to the win column after their four-game win streak was snapped their last time out.
 
The two schools have met 27 times on the hardwood, with UCO owning a 22-5 advantage in the all-time series. Central looks to extend a nine-game win streak in the series dating back to February of 2020.
 
This season, Central Oklahoma is averaging 81.0 points per game and shooting 45.8 percent from the floor. The Bronchos shoot 32.4 percent from behind the 3-point line and average 7.1 made 3-pointers per game. UCO shoots 69.6 percent from the free-throw line and makes 15.8 shots from the stripe per game.
 
Defensively, UCO is allowing 73.0 points per game with opponents shooting 43.1 percent against the Bronchos. Teams shoot 32.4 percent from behind the 3-point line and average 7.2 made threes per game. Opponents also shoot 72.7 percent from the free-throw line and make 13.8 per game.
 
The Bronchos have four players averaging double figures this season. Israel Hart leads the team scoring 15.7 points per game and the senior guard adds 3.7 assists, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game to the mix.
 
Jacobi Sebock scores 13.0 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 7.1 boards per game. JV Seat averages 12.8 points per game and leads the team with 31 made 3-pointers. Jordan Thompson is the fourth in double figures averaging 12.5 points per game. He leads the team – and the MIAA – with 2.3 steals per game.
 
Luke Haasl adds 8.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game, and Matthew Willenborg adds 5.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. The duo are first and second in the league in blocks. Parker Hannah is also a regular contributor at 6.4 points per game and is second on the team with 24 made 3-pointers.
 
UNK averages 73.5 points per game and concedes 74.1 for a plus-0.6 scoring margin.  The Lopers are led by a quartet of players averaging more than 10 points per game. Ja'Bryant Hill leads the team with 15.8 points per game. Chase Thompson (15.1), Allen Taylor (14.7) and Taylor Harrell (10.0) also score in double figures. Harrell is the team's leading rebounder too at 7.7 boards per game.
 
Central Oklahoma is hosting UNK on Thursday night and will welcome Fort Hays State to Edmond on Saturday afternoon before hitting the road again next weekend. The Bronchos host FHSU Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
 
UCO is welcoming back alumni for Saturday's game, with all players, coaches, trainers, and managers invited back for the game and postgame social.
