Jaden Wells Earns All-American Honor

Broncho Guard Named D2CCA Honorable Mention All-American

WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Jaden Wells was named Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-American, it was announced Tuesday.
 
The fourth-year junior guard, who earned First Team All-MIAA honors, First Team D2CCA All-Region honors, and NABC All-District honors, culminated awards season with an All-American honor – the first at UCO since 2014.
 
"I'm happy for Jaden," UCO head men's basketball coach Bob Hoffman said. "He's such a great player, a great shooter, and an even better young man. We're so happy for him.
 
Wells averaged 21.5 points per game this season in leading the Bronchos to the MIAA Basketball Championship quarterfinals. He led the MIAA in scoring, made field-goals (207), made 3-pointers (82), made free-throws (170), and steals (63).
 
Earlier this season, Wells broke the UCO school record for career made 3-pointers (308) and became fifth player in MIAA history to make 300. He vaulted up UCO's all-time scoring list this season with 1,880 career points, which ranks third in school history.
 
Wells is Central Oklahoma's first All-American in men's basketball since Josh Gibbs earned the honor in 2013-14.
