LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Central Oklahoma is ranked No. 11 in first regular season National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 announced Tuesday.
The Bronchos are 4-4 on the season and on a three-game win streak. UCO was ranked No. 3 in the Preseason Top 25 before a 1-4 start to the season. Central lost to then No. 22 Oklahoma Baptist and Augustana, both by a 2-1 margin. The Bronchos also lost to Texas A&M Kingsville, which is now receiving votes in this week's Top 25. Central's fourth loss was to Oklahoma Christian, which was No. 16 and has since dropped to No. 22 in this week's poll.
UCO has wins over Harding, which was receiving votes in the preseason, then 22nd-ranked OBU, and Southern Nazarene and Maryville.
Central Oklahoma is hosting the 16-team Raising Cane's Softball Festival this weekend in conjunction with SNU. The four-site festival runs Thursday – Sunday. UCO is playing East Central, Arkansas Tech, Missouri S&T, No. 23 Southern Arkansas, and Southwestern Oklahoma State all at Gerry Pinkston Stadium this weekend.
