Four Bronchos Earn All-American Honors

Central Oklahoma Has Players Honored By AFCA, AP, and D2CCA

EDMOND – A trio of All-American teams were announced Wednesday, and four players from the University of Central Oklahoma were honored by various organzations for their work on the football field.
 
Terrill Davis and Montriel Lee were both named First Team All-American by the AFCA, earning the top honor for individuals following a successful season on the football field. Davis was also named First Team AP All-American. Jack Puckett and Kobey Stephens joined Davis and Lee as D2CCA All-Americans. Puckett was named First Team All-American and Stephens and Lee Second Team.  
 
Davis and Lee led Central Oklahoma's No. 1 rated offense to almost two dozen school records, an MIAA Championship, a spot in the NCAA Division II Football Championship including a home game, and a finish in the regional semifinal.
 
Davis hauled in more yards receiving (1,609) than any other player in the country. He finished No. 2 in UCO single season history for receptions (109). He set numerous UCO records for touchdowns in a season (15) and receiving yards (1,609). Davis had 14 receptions in a game twice and 15 receptions twice (previous UCO record was 13). He also had four games with 100+ yards receiving and three games with 200+ yards receiving. Davis tied the school record with four TDs (in first half) against Fort Hays State, which was No. 1 defense in MIAA at the time.
 
Lee paved the way for the offense from his position at right guard. A First Team D2CCA All-Region and MIAA Offensive Lineman of the Year and First Team All-MIAA selection from the No. 1 offense in the country, Lee started every game at right guard and paved the way for the No. 1 offense in the country (538.4 yards per game). Team set single season scoring record (577 points) and single season first downs record (337) at UCO. Lee led the way for No. 3 pass offense (332.6) and No. 13 rush offense (205.7) this season.


Puckett led Central Oklahoma's defensive efforts this season and finished the year with 102 tackles. A First Team All-MIAA and First Team D2CCA All-Region linebacker, Puckett was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week in Week 11 with 12 tackles and one sack as UCO won the league title. He added five QB hurries to his stat line through 13 games. Puckett had 15 tackles in the backfield including seven sacks. 

Stephens was the MIAA Special Teams Player of the Year. A F
irst Team D2CCA All-Region and Second Team All-MIAA KR/PR (league did not have First Team selection), Stephens returned the opening kickoff of 2024 season 98 yards for a touchdown and had a 90-yard punt return for a TD later in that game. He also took a 92-yard punt return for a score in helping Central Oklahoma keep MIAA title locked up in Week 9 overtime win at Missouri Western.

The group represents
 the 84th, 85th, 86th, and 87th All-Americans in UCO football history.

Central Oklahoma went 11-2 this season and won the MIAA Championship for the first time since joining the league in 2012. The Bronchos earned the No. 4 seed in Super Region III and hosted a playoff game, beating Ouachita Baptist 38-31 in overtime. UCO ended its season in the regional semfinals at Ferris State, which is playing for the national championship on Saturday.
