Bronchos Picked Fifth In MIAA Hoops Polls

Central Oklahoma Starts 2024-25 Season Nov. 8 In Edmond

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma was picked fifth in both the MIAA Preseason Coaches' and Media Polls, announced Tuesday morning at MIAA Basketball Media Day.

The Bronchos received one first-place vote in the media poll.

"We're excited to get the year started," UCO head men's basketball coach Bob Hoffman said. "We have a lot of new kids this season, and the returners we have are ready to have a bigger year this year. Like everyone else, we'll see what we have when we get started. This league will be tough just like it always is, but we're looking forward to getting started."

Central Oklahoma went 20-11 last season, winning 20 games for the third straight year for just the third time in school history. The Bronchos finished sixth in the MIAA and reached the MIAA Basketball Championship quarterfinals. Hoffman returns seven lettermen from last year's squad, including two starters.

UCO senior Luke Haasl and sophomore Parker Hannah return as the leaders in most statistical categories for the Bronchos. Haasl averaged 8.8 points per game, 5.9 rebounds per game, and 1.5 blocks per game.

Preston Aymond, who averaged 3.9 points and 4.7 rebounds, is also returning in 2024-25. Matthew Willenborg, Ben Averitt, Jarreth Ingram, Caiden Punt, and Connor Newton all return as well.
