Senior Day Walkoff!

EDMOND – For the first time all season Central Oklahoma played extra innings and the Bronchos ended it in dramatic fashion.

Kaleb Glass hit a leadoff triple in the bottom of the 10th inning and Noah Olson followed with a walkoff RBI single, slapping a 1-0 pitch down the third base line to score Glass and incite a celebration on the field.

Central Oklahoma 6, Northwest Missouri 5.

The Bronchos found a way to salvage their series with the Bearcats from Maryville, Missouri after Northwest won both Friday and Saturday to take the three-game MIAA series. UCO built a 3-0 lead, then 5-2, before Northwest came back to tie the game on several late rallies. But then it was the Bronchos in the end.

Valek Cisneros earned the win after getting through the top of the 10th inning. He gave up a two-out single, but followed with a strikeout to end the inning before Glass and Olson teamed up to end it.

Glass went 3-for-5 in the game, hitting a pair of singles before the triple. He hit a single in the third and later scored to give UCO that 3-0 lead. He also singled in the fourth to score Seth Gray and give the Bronchos a 4-2 lead.

Olson went 1-for-5 with a pair of RBIs. He scored Aiden Proctor on an RBI groundout in the third to make it 2-0, UCO. He turned around an 0-for-4 game with his walkoff in the 10th.

Central Oklahoma scattered 10 hits in the game. Proctor hit a leadoff homer in the bottom of the first and a double in the third. He finished 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Jaden Parsons also went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Wyatt Gray was 2-for-4 with an RBI.

The Bronchos used seven pitchers on Sunday to get the job done.

Aiden Bagwell got the start and threw 4 2/3 innings, striking out three batters. He gave up two runs on three hits. Jase Farmer got the Bronchos out of a bases loaded jam in the fifth, getting one out.

Bradan Pierce threw 2/3 of an inning in the sixth and was replaced with the bases loaded. Jeb Jenkins threw the final 1/3 of that inning, but gave up one hit, which scored two runs charged to Pierce.

Grant Zwald gave up one run on two hits and a walk in the seventh before Jacob Bailey came on to shut things down for the Bronchos. He threw 2 2/3 innings, allowing just two hits. Bailey struck out one batter in the ninth before handing it off to Cisneros in extras.

Central Oklahoma will play just one more home game in the 2023 regular season. The Bronchos host Southwestern Oklahoma State Tuesday night at Wendell Simmons Field. UCO will travel to Central Missouri for three MIAA games next weekend.
