No. 10 UCO Opens MIAA Series With A Win

CLAREMORE, Okla. – Jacob Bailey's strikeout to end the game with the bases loaded closed out a narrow victory for No. 10 Central Oklahoma Saturday in the first of three MIAA games against Rogers State this weekend.

UCO won 4-2. Game 2 is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. and the two will wrap up the series Monday at the same time.

UCO led 1-0 in the first, 2-0 in the fifth, then Aiden Proctor broke a 2-2 tie with a 2-RBI double in the top of the seventh inning to give UCO its final lead. Bailey hit a batter and gave up two singles but he followed each of those at bats with outs, including fanning the RSU batters for the second and third outs.

James Wambold got a no decision after 5 1/3 innings of work. He gave up two runs on four hits and a walk while striking out three batters. Aiden Bagwell picked up the win. He threw 2 2/3 innings and didn't give up any runs while just allowing one hit and two base on balls. Bailey threw the final inning.

Proctor led the UCO offense that scattered eight hits with four doubles. Proctor's in the seventh scored Wyatt Gray and Landen Wood, who both also doubled in the game.

Wood also scored Jaden Parsons in the fifth to make it 2-0. Kaleb Glass scored on a delayed steal from third with two outs in the top of the first inning to start the day's scoring off.

Seth Gray joined Proctor, Wood, and Wyatt  Gray with a double.

Glass had two singles Saturday. Parsons had one, and Orlando Gonzalez did as well.
