Bronchos Sign Six Prep Stars

Central Oklahoma, National Semifinalists Last Year, Add To Future Squad In Early Signing Period

EDMOND – Perennial national softball power Central Oklahoma added to its arsenal during the early signing period with the addition of six high school standouts, including five in-state products.

Set to join the Bronchos for the 2025 season will be catcher Kindal Biggs of Bixby, infielder Shelby Kilhoffer of Henryetta, first baseman Brooklyn Lyles of Newcastle, utility Ariah Mitchell of Yukon and utility Mari Scott of Westmoore along with outfielder Makenzie Fithian of Rogers, Ark.

"This is an outstanding group of players and we're excited about having them join our program," head coach Cody White said. "They've all had incredible success, both in high school and on the club level, and will only continue to get better."

Biggs was a four-year starter at Bixby High School, earning All-District honors three times. She was an All-Region and All-State pick as a senior for the Spartans while also garnering Academic All-Conference recognition four straight years.

Fithian finished with a .430 career average as a four-year starter at Rogers (Ark.) High School, claiming All-Conference honors her final season. She also set school records for on-base percentage and walks.

Kilhoffer was a three-time All-District pick at Henryetta High School, batting .467 with 25 home runs and 153 runs batted in for her career. She was named District Offensive Player of the Year and an All-State selection as a senior and also ran track for the Knights.

Lyles helped lead Newcastle High School to a state championship this fall, finishing her career with a .406 average and just one fielding error. A four-time All-Conference selection, she didn't strike out in 138 plate appearances as a senior in earning All-Region and All-State acclaim.

Mitchell was a three-time All-Conference selection at Yukon High School and was twice named District 6A-2 Offensive Player of the Year. She batted an uncanny .552 with 28 doubles and 48 RBI as a senior in garnering All-State honors.

Scott helped guide Westmoore High School to the state tournament and was an All-District infielder pick as a senior. She also was a track and field standout for the Jaguars, placing fourth in regionals in both the shot put and discus.

The Bronchos are coming off an historic 2023 season, winning a school-record 54 games in finishing 54-9. UCO captured the MIAA regular season and tournament titles before claiming the Central Region crown in advancing to the semifinals of the NCAA Division II World Series.
