Another Week, Another Spot Higher

Central Oklahoma continued its steady climb up the national rankings again this week as the Bronchos are now listed seventh in the country in the latest National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Top 25.

Central Oklahoma is 15-1 on the season and the Bronchos have an eight-game win streak. UCO is also 9-1 and in first place in the MIAA standings.

UCO has been ranked 11th or higher since the preseason poll had the Bronchos at that spot. UCO climbed up to No. 6 in December before its only loss of the season. Central has been ranked 11th, ninth, eighth, and now seventh in the last four polls.

The Bronchos are home this week. UCO is scheduled to host Northwest Missouri State, which is up to No. 4 in this week's NABC poll. The Bearcats of Maryville, Missouri are 14-1 overall and 7-1 in league play.

The two schools shared the MIAA regular season title last year, though UCO earned the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament thanks to a win over NWMSU in Edmond last January.

Central Oklahoma is also scheduled to host Missouri Western on Saturday afternoon. The Bronchos are home again next week with just one game scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 21 against Newman.
