UCO Baseball Has Eight Earn MIAA Academic Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Garrett Takamatsu paced eight Central Oklahoma baseball players who received Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Academic recognition.

Takamatsu was named to the Scholar-Athlete list, which requires a student-athlete to have a 3.5 or better cumulative grade point average in addition to being an All-MIAA performer on the field. The senior utility player was a first-team All-MIAA selection and second-team All-Central Region pick.

The Bronchos had seven others in the Academic Honor Roll category, which requires a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Senior pitchers Jacob Bailey, Blake Bautz, Owen Logan, Kyler Patterson and Ethan Wayland, sophomore outfielder Kaden Marshall and senior infielder Shane Nixon made that list.

The Bronchos finished the 2022 campaign 29-21.
