Bronchos Finish Season At Regional

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. (May 7) – Central Oklahoma wrapped up the men's golf season Saturday at the NCAA Division II Central/Midwest Regional Tournament.

The Bronchos – making their first regional appearance since 2018 -- shot a final-round 312 to finish 20th in the 54-hole tournament with a 942 total. Central Missouri and Grand Valley State tied for first at 884, seven shots ahead of Arkansas Tech.

Caleb Kimmel led UCO on the final day with a 75. Bennett Baldwin shot 77, while Evan Griffith and Kyle Hickey both had 80s and Liam Coughlin an 84.

Bennett had the best three-round total for the Bronchos at 230.

"We got off to a slow start in the first round and it just never got any better," said first-year head coach Derrick Thompson. "It's disappointing that we played so badly in our last tournament, but I'm proud of how the guys competed this year.

"I think we made a lot of progress during the course of the year and I'm really excited about the future of the program."
