Kylee Lynch Earns MIAA Pitcher of the Week

Sophomore Pitcher From Chandler Has Won MIAA Pitcher of the Week Honors Four Times This Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the fourth time this season Central Oklahoma standout Kylee Lynch is the MIAA Pitcher of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Lynch had another dominating weekend in the circle and had a hand in all four UCO wins as the Bronchos swept doubleheaders from Northeastern State and No. 2 Rogers State.
 
The sophomore left-hander went 2-0 with one save and a 0.37 ERA while walking just one batter in 19 innings. She allowed 14 hits and two runs, including just one earned run, as opponents hit .206.
 
Lynch threw a complete-game four-hitter in a 6-0 first-game shutout of NSU, then tossed two perfect innings in an 8-4 second-game victory. Lynch came back the next day to allow one earned run in a 6-2 first-game win over Rogers before picking up the save with three no-hit innings in a 1-0 second-game triumph.
 
Central Oklahoma is ranked No. 10 in the country as of last week's national rankings. UCO is 38-6 this season. The Bronchos are also 17-1 and in first place in the MIAA.
 
Lynch, a third-year sophomore from Chandler, Oklahoma, is 19-1 this season with a 1.47 ERA. She's made 28 appearances including 22 starts and has thrown a total of 142 2/3 innings in the circle. Lynch has 74 strikeouts and opponents hit just .196 against her.
 
UCO is scheduled to visit Nebraska Kearney and Fort Hays State this weekend. The Bronchos will wrap up the 2022 regular season on the road next weekend at Pittsburg State and at Missouri Southern.
 
Central Oklahoma is hosting the 2022 MIAA Softball Championship at Gerry Pinkston Stadium May 4-7.
