Two months after Hoffman was introduced the 2019-20 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll was released and it showed Central Oklahoma picked last in the league.

Three seasons later and Hoffman was named Coach of the Year after leading Central Oklahoma to the MIAA regular season title. The Bronchos won the league for the first time since joining 10 years ago.

"Any individual award is a team award for us," Hoffman said. "We win as a team and we succeed as a team. I'm proud of the guys for their hard work and their accomplishments. All of the success we've had this season has been a work in progress for the past three years and we're celebrating together."

Central Oklahoma went 23-5 this season and posted an 18-4 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos will be the No. 1 seed in the 2022 MIAA Basketball Championship presented by Citizen's Bank & Trust. That tips off Wednesday with the Bronchos waiting in the quarterfinals Thursday.

UCO led the league in scoring and ranked in the top three in the MIAA in nearly every statistical category.

Central Oklahoma also had four players recognized by the league for their efforts.

The MIAA announced its annual postseason awards and Isaiah Wade was named First Team All-MIAA, Callen Haydon was named Second Team All-MIAA, Camryn Givens was named Third Team All-MIAA, and Jaden Wells was named All-MIAA Honorable Mention.

Wade led UCO this season in scoring and rebounding. The senior forward, who was a Second Team selection last season, scored 18.7 points per game and pulled down 8.3 rebounds per game this winter. Wade also shot a team-best 58.7 percent from the floor.

Haydon, a Third Team pick a year ago, was named Second Team this season after another standout campaign. He averaged 14.8 points per game and 6.1 assists per game. His assists mark is second in the MIAA and eighth in the country. His 165 total assists this season also ranks sixth in school history for a single season.

Givens averaged 13.7 points per game this season to go along with 5.0 rebounds per game. An honorable mention pick last season, the junior forward was a standout this season. He scored a single game-high 40 points in an overtime win over Washburn in December and that came a week after scoring 30 in a game at Missouri Southern.

Givens has scored 982 points in his three seasons at Central Oklahoma. He could become UCO's 43rd member of the 1,000-point club this weekend in Kansas City.

Wells, a second-year freshman, averaged 14.6 points per game this season. He did most of his work from the outside, but the lethal shooter also found his way to the basket.

Wells hit 84 threes this season, the 10th-most in one season in school history at Central. Wells ranked third in total made 3-pointers this season, third in made 3-pointers per game (3.0), and led the league in 3-point field-goal percentage (43.5).

He also leads the country in free-throw percentage at 94.9 percent, making 74 of 78 shots from the stripe this winter.

Central Oklahoma is the No. 1 seed in the MIAA postseason tournament. The Bronchos will play at 6 p.m. Thursday in the quarterfinals against the winner of (8) Central Missouri and (9) Northeastern State. The Bronchos split the season series with UCM and swept the series from NSU.

If UCO wins Thursday, the Bronchos will take Friday off before competing in the semifinals Saturday evening. The 2022 MIAA Basketball Championship game is scheduled for Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

The 2022 NCAA Division II men's basketball championship selection show is scheduled for Sunday at 6 p.m. (ET).
