Central Oklahoma Appearing In NABC and D2SIDA Top 25s Again This Week

Central Oklahoma dipped in the national rankings this week following its first loss of the 2022-23 season, with the Bronchos now ranked No. 11 in both the NABC and D2SIDA Top 25s.

Central Oklahoma is 8-1 on the year and also has a 3-1 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos suffered a 56-50 setback to Missouri Southern last week in Edmond in what was a rare off night for UCO. Central Oklahoma shot just 28 percent from the field in putting up a season low in points.

UCO was ranked No. 6 in the NABC poll last week and No. 8 in the D2SIDA poll.

Central Oklahoma did rebound in a big way with a win over Pittsburg State on Sunday at Hamilton Field House. The Bronchos scored as many points in the paint on Sunday as they did in the game Thursday night. UCO won 76-60.

The Bronchos are on the road this weekend for two MIAA games before taking a holiday break. UCO is scheduled to face Fort Hays State on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Nebraska Kearney on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Central Oklahoma will return from the break for a three-game homestand. UCO plays Southwestern Christian on Wednesday, Dec. 28 and returns to MIAA competition with Washburn on New Year's Eve. The Bronchos also host Emporia State on Jan. 2.
