EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball team has its 2021 signing class put together and one-by-one the future Bronchos will be unveiled on bronchosports.com in the month of June.
Up this week is Cooper Gudell.
A 6-foot-2 guard from Edmond, Gudell starred on the prep level at Crossings Christian in Oklahoma City. He earned All-State honors, all-conference honors, Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association All-Star honors, and was named to the state tournament all-tourney team.
Gudell helped guide the Crossings Christian Knights to their first-ever state championship in boys basketball this past spring. He scored 16 points to lead the team in the championship game – a 51-49 win in the Class 3A title.
Gudell averaged a bit over 16 points per game for Crossings this season, adding just over three rebounds and just under two assists per game. He is a member of the 1,000-point club at the school.
Central Oklahoma, winners of 22 conference or division championships, starts the 2021-22 season this November.
