EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball has its 2021 signing class put together and one-by-one the future Bronchos will be unveiled on bronchosports.com in the month of June.
Up first, Preston Aymond.
A 6-foot-7 forward that will come to UCO this fall as a freshman, Aymond comes to Central from Forney, Texas. The John Horn High School product went to Paris Junior College in Texas last season for his freshman year. He will still be a freshman from an eligibility perspective after receiving a "covid redshirt" for the 2020-21 season. The NCAA and the NJCAA both allowed student-athletes a season of competition waiver/eligibility extension due to the pandemic.
Aymond scored 7.4 points per game in 23 games played for Paris last season. He made 16 starts and averaged 26.4 minutes per game. Aymond scored 171 points in 23 games, going a combined 64-for-150 from the field (42.7 percent).
Aymond also hit 12 threes last season at Paris and went 31-for-45 from the free-throw line. He averaged 6.1 rebounds per game.
Central Oklahoma, winners of 22 conference or division championships, starts the 2021-22 season this November.
