Kylee Lynch Named MIAA Pitcher of the Week

Freshman Is Only Pitcher In MIAA To Win Award Multiple Times

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The MIAA announced Tuesday that University of Central Oklahoma freshman Kylee Lynch is the league's Pitcher of the Week.

Lynch led UCO to a 3-1 week on the road, going 2-0 with a 1.27 ERA in two starts. The freshman left-hander struck out five and walked two in 11 innings, with opponents hitting just .222 against her.
 
She threw a complete-game six-hitter in a 10-1 six-inning run-rule win over Washburn, then allowed four hits with no walks and two strikeouts in going the first five innings in an 8-1 win over Emporia State.
 
Lynch is 12-3 this season with a 3.27 ERA. She's thrown 96 1/3 innings in 20 appearances – 18 starts – and has a team-high 61 strikeouts.
 
This marks the third time this season that Lynch has been named MIAA Pitcher of the Week. She's taken the award in Week's 1, 5, and 10. The lefty is also the only pitcher in the league to win the award more than once.
 
Central Oklahoma has four games on its schedule this week. The Bronchos will play two non-conference games Wednesday at Southern Nazarene. UCO will then return to conference play with an MIAA doubleheader Saturday at home against Pittsburg State.
