No. 25 Bronchos Topple No. 12 Rogers State

CLAREMORE, Okla. (March 11) – Kylee Lynch picked up a complete-game pitching victory and No. 25-ranked Central Oklahoma used a balanced offensive attack to subdue No. 12 Rogers State 5-1 Thursday afternoon in the first game of a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association doubleheader.

The streaking Bronchos got hits from nine different players in earning their fifth straight league win, improving to 12-3 overall and 5-0 in MIAA play. Tarin Dubler was the lone player with two hits.

Lynch cooled off a RSU team that had scored 52 runs in winning its previous four games. The freshman left-hander gave up six hits – including just three in the final six innings -- while striking out four and not walking a batter in moving to 5-1.

The Hillcats struck first, stringing together three straight two-out singles in the bottom of the first to go ahead 1-0. Lynch dominated in the circle the rest of the game.

UCO answered back in the second when hot-hitting Allie Eicher smacked a lead-off home run to right field – her third of the season – to knot the score at 1-1.

It stayed that way until the fourth and Eicher sparked the Bronchos again, drawing a full-count walk to ignite a two-out rally.

Lexy Dobson followed with a single through the left side and Mikalya Rutland was hit by pitch to load the bases for Halley Randolph, who delivered a clutch two-run double to left center to put the Bronchos on top 3-1.

Central made it a 5-1 cushion in the seventh.

Shayla Harper opened the inning with her second homer of the year and Jacee Minter added a one-out RBI single that scored Dubler, who followed Harper's dinger with a double down the left field line.

Lynch quickly put RSU down in order in the bottom of the seventh to close out her third complete-game win of the season.
