Slater, a junior defensive end from St. Louis, Missouri, was named Second Team All-Region for the CCA's Super Region 3. That region is comprised of schools from the MIAA, Great American Conference, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference, and the Great Lakes Valley Confernce.

Slater is the 62nd player to earn All-Region honors for the Bronchos and is the first defensive lineman to earn the honor since Kenny Allen in 2015. Slater is the ninth defensive lineman to earn All-Region honors for the Bronchos.

At 6-foot-2, 290 pounds, Slater transferred to Central Oklahoma before the 2021 season and wasted no time imposing his will on any and all opposition.

He led UCO with 18.5 tackles for a loss this season and that mark also led the MIAA. It is the 14th-best mark in all of Division II football.

He made 40 total tackles this season, to go along with two pass breakups, one fumble forced, and one more fumble recovered.

Slater was named First Team All-MIAA last month.
