EDMOND – Another soon-to-be Broncho men's basketball player recently wrapped up his high school career in a similar fashion as his soon-to-be teammates – with a dominating senior season.
Jaden Wells, from L.D. Bell High School in Hurst, Texas, led his varsity squad to the postseason for the first time since 2011 and led his team to a playoff win for the first time since 2010. He did that by dropping 24 in the bi-district game back in February.
Wells of course, like his counterparts, had his senior season cut short due to the global health crisis. But he still earned MVP honors from the Dallas Morning News for Class 6A's District 3 to go with a First Team All-District selection.
Wells posted 578 points this past season – the fourth-most in the Dallas-Fort Worth area – and his 21 points per game mark was the third most of any player in the area. Wells added four rebounds per game and three assists per game to go with that. He finished with 102 total rebounds and 83 assists.
He is one of just 11 players in the sprawling metro to post at least 500 points and 100 rebounds during the 2019-20 season.
