EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball team has a trio of All-State selections heading to campus this fall and Austin Fenton, of Talihina, is one of them.
Fenton, a 6-foot-8 forward, earned the honor this past season after leading Talihina to the Class 2A state tournament. Fenton was preparing to face the defending state champions in the state quarterfinals when the tournament was cancelled due to the global health crisis. The news shuttered what was a standout year for the future Broncho.
Fenton averaged 14 points per game this season and shot nearly 70 percent from the floor in doing so. He led his team to a 22-5 record on the season. Fenton also averaged 10 points per game during his junior season as he led Talihina to the state tournament that year too.
The sizable forward will add depth to the Broncho frontcourt and will have every chance to compete for playing time in 2020-21.
