Future Broncho Was Player of the Year Nominee

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball team signed Davon Richardson last fall and the soon-to-be Broncho followed that with a stellar senior season at Sand Springs High School. The senior year capped off a brilliant career for the Sandite.

Richardson, who is 6-foot-4, was named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State team. He led the Sandites to regional and area titles and a state tournament berth this season, though he didn't get to compete in the latter due to the global health crisis.

Richardson was also named to the Tulsa World's All-World Team and was listed as a finalist for the newspaper's player of the year award.

Richardson put up 16.2 points per game this season to go with 8.5 rebounds per contest. He also averaged 1.6 assists and 2.2 steals per game, as well as a block per game. Richardson scored 1,331 points during his high school career and posted 20 double-doubles.
