UCO Hoopsters Honored By MIAA

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Central Oklahoma men's and women's basketball teams had student-athletes honored by the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Friday as the league announced its postseason academic awards.

Shatoya Bryson (General Studies), Lauren Chancellor (Kinesiology), Brooke Rayner (General Studies), Kaci Richardson (Kinesiology), and McKenna Pulley (Elementary Education) were each listed on the MIAA Honor Roll for carrying a 3.0 grade point average. Cooper Clark (Physical Education) was also listed on the MIAA Men's Basketball Honor Roll.

Rayner and Clark were also recognized by the league for their 4.0 GPAs, the two being given Academic Excellence awards for their efforts in the classroom.

The MIAA Honor Roll recognizes all student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA that have attended their respective school for at least two semesters. The MIAA Scholar Athlete award recognizes all students-athletes with a 3.5 GPA that also earn All-MIAA honors on the court. And the MIAA Academic Excellence award recognizes all student-athletes with a 4.0 GPA who again have been at their school for two semesters.
