Central Oklahoma Announces 2019 Women's Basketball Class

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma women's basketball team announced its 2019 class Tuesday with head coach Guy Hardaker welcoming seven newcomers to next year's squad.

The group consists of six who will be freshmen for the 2019-20 season and one transfer.

"I think we put together a really solid recruiting class that will fill the needs we have going into next year," Hardaker said. "I think each one of them will find a role pretty quickly and they can all really help us."

Central Oklahoma landed six all-state selections in its recruiting class. There are six from Oklahoma and one from Kansas.

Avery Allen, a 5-foot-8 guard/forward combo player from Owasso, earned Oklahoma Girls Basketball Coaches Association All-State honors this past season. She averaged 14.6 points per game and also swiped 2.6 steals per game during her senior season.

Taylor Dement is a 5-foot-5 guard out of Sapulpa and another all-state selection. Dement averaged 14. 1 points per game as a senior. She also averaged 4.1 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.1 steals per game.

Clary Donica, from Dickson, earned all-state honors after averaging 16 points per game during her senior season in 2018. She spent last season at Oklahoma and appeared in three games for the Sooners.

Maddie Harelson, a 6-foot forward from Davenport is another all-stater heading to Central Oklahoma. Harelson, who is also a state champion in track, averaged 12.8 points per game this past season to go with 8.5 rebounds, 6.9 assists, 3.9 steals, and 3.5 blocks per game.

Jaci Littell is a 5-foot-10 guard-forward out of Stillwater. Yet another all-state selection for the Bronchos, Littell averaged 19 points per game this past season, scoring 455 points during her senior season. Her father, Jim, coaches the Oklahoma State women's basketball team.

Aliyah Llanusa, a 5-foot-4 guard from Choctaw and all-state selection, brings another scoring option to Central Oklahoma. Llanusa helped her team win a state title in 2017. This past season, she averaged 17.1 points per game, scoring 461 points in 27 games during her senior campaign.

Macy McClendon, a 6-foot-1 forward from Severy, Kan., is the only out-of-state player coming to UCO this season and she brings a lot with her. McClendon averaged 15.8 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game to go with 1.3 blocks per game. She is a two-time all-state selection.

Hardaker has won 249 games as the head coach at Central Oklahoma, an average of 19 wins per year over the past 13 seasons. UCO has made the national tournament five times in the past 12 seasons.

The 2019-20 season will be the 50th season of women's basketball at Central Oklahoma and will tip off this November.
