Central Oklahoma Visits Northeastern State

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball team travels on Saturday to take on Northeastern State at 3:30 p.m. at the NSU Event Center. The Bronchos are 9-12 overall and 2-10 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
 
"NSU is a big rival of ours." UCO head coach Tom Hankins said. "It will be a tough one. They have been putting up big numbers. We need to crash the boards and utilize each possession well."
 
Adarius Avery leads the Bronchos averaging 20 points and 10.6 rebounds. The Memphis, Tenn. native has been the scoring leader for UCO the entire season and continues to put up big numbers every game. He is sixth in the MIAA in scoring and also ranks atop the league in rebounding. Avery is the only player in the league averaging a double-double.
 
Jordan Hemphill averages 8.3 points and 4.4 rebounds. He has scored double figures in the past seven matchups. Josh Holliday averages 8.1 points and leads the team in made 3-point field goals with 32.
 
UCO averages 77 points a game and has a field goal average of 44 percent. The Bronchos continue to lead the MIAA in free-throw percentage at 78 percent and out steal their opponents 149-112.
 
The Riverhawks are 12-9 overall and 6-6 in MIAA after falling to Southwest Baptist last week 69-65. They are led by Caleb Smith who averages 15.9 points and 4.7 rebounds. Tanner Mouse averages 13.5 points per game and leads their team in steals with 20. Trent Cantrell averages 11.6 points per game.
 
The Bronchos will be back in action next week for two games on the road. They will face Emporia State on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7:30 p.m. and Washburn on Saturday, Feb. 16 at 3:00 p.m.
