EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma women's basketball team wraps up its brief two-game homestand with a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association matchup against Central Missouri Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Hamilton Field House.

The Bronchos enter the game 14-7 on the season and are 5-6 in league play. Central Missouri is 14-4 overall and 7-3 in the MIAA. UCO has won two straight, beating Lincoln a week ago before cruising past Southwest Baptist on Thursday night in Edmond. Central Missouri has won four in a row.

Central Oklahoma is led into action by junior center Ireon Smith. The Midwest City, Okla. native averages a team-high 11.6 points per game and a team-high 7.8 rebounds per game. Smith shoots a solid 55 percent from the floor, having made 104 of 189 shots this season.

Micayla Haynes averages 11.4 points per game to chip in on the offensive end. She has a team-high 37 made 3-pointers. Haynes is also very active on defense, contributing to Central's 8.9 steals per game average. Haynes swipes 1.1 per game.

Shatoya Bryson's 10.7 points per game average gives UCO three players in double figures. Bryson is close behind Haynes with 32 made threes and leads the team with 1.5 steals per game.

Blake Blessington averages an even 9.0 points per game, is second on the team in rebounds at 5.3 per game. Blessington is also one of five Bronchos averaging at least one steal per game.

Central Missouri, which won the NCAA Division II national championship in 2018, is led by Paige Redmond's 16.9 points per game average. Redmond has the UCM team-high with 41 made 3-pointers and also dishes out three assists per game.

Megan Skaggs and Morgan Fleming both average 13.9 points per game for the Jennies. Skaggs, at six per game, is the team's leading rebounder. Fleming averages 5.3 per game, while Kim Crown (8.8 ppg) averages 5.6 rebounds per game.

The Bronchos hit the road for three games following Saturday's contest. UCO will play only once next week, a trip to Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla. on Saturday, Feb. 9. Central Oklahoma will then make a trip to Kansas to take on Emporia State and Washburn the following weekend.
