Bronchos To Host Cameron Saturday

EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma women's basketball team returns to the court after a one-week break to host Cameron. Tipoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton Field House.

The Bronchos are 3-1 this season. UCO won its first three contests of the year before coming up short in a double-overtime drama last Saturday. Cameron is 1-3 on the season and looking to snap a two-game losing streak.

UCO has been paced by a high-octane offense and will look to continue that play Saturday. UCO averages 81 points per game through four games this season. The Bronchos are shooting 42 percent from the floor overall, 34 percent from behind the arc, and 68 percent from the free-throw line. Central is also averaging 9.8 made 3-pointers per game, hitting 37 from outside in four games.

Freshman guard Jaci Littell is the team's leading scorer after four games. The Stillwater, Okla. native is averaging 13 points and six rebounds per game. She's hit a team-high 10 threes and is shooting nearly 50 precent (47.6) from outside.

Micayla Haynes, a senior guard, is also one of the leading scorers for the Bronchos. Haynes is averaging 11.5 points per game and making nearly a pair of threes per game. Her 3.1 assists per game is also a team-high.

Brooke Rayner is the third Broncho to average double figures through the first four games of the season. Off the bench, the sophomore point guard 10.5 points and almost three assists per game.

Kelsey Johnson is just one point shy of averaging 10 points per game. The junior forward is averaging 9.8 and is the team's leading rebounder, pulling down nine boards per contest.

Cameron averages 61 points per game as a team this season. Maighan Hedge (15.3), Kami Porter (11.5), and Amaka Nwakamma (10.8) are the leading scorers for the Aggies. Porter's 6.8 rebounds per game is also the team leader.

Central Oklahoma has one more home game following Saturday's matchup with Cameron. UCO will host Harding next Tuesday before taking off for the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic in San Antonio, Texas next weekend.
