EDMOND – The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball team hosts Pittsburg State Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. in Hamilton Field House.

The Bronchos are 8-7 in the regular season and 1-5 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association play.

UCO and Pitt State played each other in early December and the Gorillas came out with the victory in a nail biter. With just seconds to go, Pitt State guard Grant Lozoya nailed a half court heave right at the buzzer to win 77-76.

Senior Adarius Avery leads the Bronchos averaging 19.7 points per game and a league-high 9.9 rebounds per game. He continues to lead the way for UCO, scoring double figures in all 15 matchups. His 19.7 scoring average is fifth in the MIAA. He also leads the team in assists (46) and blocks (nine), and is second on the team with 20 steals.

Ashford Golden averages 15.7 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game. The Oklahoma City native has nine blocks as well and leads the Bronchos in total three-point field goals on the season with 23.

Josh Holliday, who has made 22 threes this season, and Jaylan Williams both average 7.9 points per game. Marquis Johnson averages 7.5 points and is the leader in steals with 22. Johnson is second on the team with 43 assists.

The Bronchos average 79.3 points per game and 34.6 rebounds. They continue to lead the MIAA in free-throw percentage at 80 percent. They lead their opponent in steals 113-80.

Pitt State is 12-3 overall and 5-1 in MIAA after defeating Central Missouri last week, 78-69. Donovan Franklin led the way for the Gorillas in the win, marking up 25 points and six rebounds. Lozoya has 23 points and 10 rebounds.

UCO will continue their two games at home against Missouri Southern on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3:30 pm. They will then have two games on the road the following week taking on Lindenwood on Thursday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. and Lincoln on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 3:30 p.m.
