UCO Returns To Court Saturday

The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball team hosts Tabor College in Hamilton Field House on Saturday, Dec. 29 at 3:30 p.m.
 
The Bronchos are 6-4 on the season after defeating Oklahoma Baptist last week. Adarius Avery and Ashford Golden led UCO to that win, combining for 54 points.
 
"It's going to be good to be back in the gym and play," UCO head coach Tom Hankins said.
 
Avery leads the Bronchos averaging 21 points and 9.7 rebounds per game. He leads the team in steals with 16 and has 27 assists on the season so far. The senior has scored in double figures in all 10 games including a season-high 32. Avery has scored at least 23 points in each of the last six games.
 
Golden averages 13.4 points and leads the Bronchos in blocks with eight. Josh Holliday averages 10.6 points and has a total of 21 assists and 12 steals.
 
Central Oklahoma averages 42 percent from the field and 79 points per game. UCO continues to lead the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association in free throw percentage with an average of 81 percent. The Bronchos average 16.5 made free-throws per contest this season. UCO leads their opponents in steals 77-49.
 
Tabor College is 4-11 in regular season play and 2-7 in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. In Tabor's last game they fell short to Bethel College. Ricky Battles had 19 points and Patrick Roulette with eight rebounds.
 
UCO continues their season with three straight home games. After Tabor, UCO's final non-conference game of the season, the Bronchos will take on Missouri Western on Thursday, Jan. 3 at 7:30 and Saturday, Jan. 5 at 3:30 against Northwest Missouri in MIAA play.
