Central Oklahoma Visits Oklahoma Baptist Tuesday

SHAWNEE, Okla. – The University of Central Oklahoma men's basketball team takes on Oklahoma Baptist Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m. The Bronchos are 5-4 on the season. OBU is 4-4.

Adarius Avery, a Memphis, Tenn. native, leads the Bronchos averaging 20.1 points and 9.4 rebounds. He also leads the team in steals with 14. The senior has scored double figures in all nine games the Bronchos have played.

Ashford Golden is averaging 12 points per game, with a total of seven blocks. Josh Holliday averages 11.8 points and has a total of 12 steals on the season.

UCO is averaging 78.7 points a game and out rebounding the opponent on offensive rebounds 90-73. The Bronchos continue to knock down the free shots, averaging 81 percent from the line.

Central Oklahoma head coach Tom Hankins is 1-0 against Oklahoma Baptist after the Bronchos defeated the Bison last year 86-60. OBU holds a slight advantage in the all-time series 52-51.

OBU is 4-4 overall and 3-1 in the Great American Conference after defeating Southwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday. OBU is led by Antonio Wade averaging 16.9 points and five assists. Davion Turner averages 15.4 points per game and 5.4 rebounds.

The Bronchos continue their season on Saturday, Dec. 29 in Hamilton Field House at 3:30 p.m. where UCO will take on Tabor College. This will be the final game of 2018 for the Bronchos. Central will pick back up on Thursday, Jan. 3 at home against Missouri Western at 7:30 p.m. in a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association affair.
