Washburn Tops Bronchos

MAGNOLIA, Ark. (Feb. 14) – Washburn scored eight runs in the final three innings to break open a close game and hand Central Oklahoma a 16-5 setback here Sunday on the final day of the Southern Arkansas Festival.
 
The Bronchos trailed just 8-5 after six innings before WU pulled away in the final three frames.  UCO went 1-2 in the two-day event and is now 2-2 on the season.
 
Chris Lobato had two of the team's nine hits, while the Ichabods finished with 13.
 
The Bronchos took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the first on Jon Kamies' two-run home run to left-center field that scored T.J. Sparr, who had reached on a one-out single.
 
It stayed that way until WU scored four runs in the third to take the lead for good.
 
UCO returns to action Tuesday, hosting Southern Nazarene at Wendell Simmons Field for a single game at 1 p.m.
