UCO Finishes Third

TOPEKA, Kan. (April 14) – Russ Purser shot a final-round 72 and Central Oklahoma moved up two spots in the final standings at the Washburn Invitational here Tuesday.

The Bronchos closed with a 293 to finish the two-day, 54-hole tournament at the 6,647-yard, par-71 Topeka Country Club with an 889 total. Central Missouri won the 12-team tourney by 36 shots over Northeastern State with an 850 total, followed by UCO, Missouri Southern (893) and the host Ichabods (901).

Purser paced the Bronchos with his one-over round, while Eli Armstrong shot 73, Alexander Hughes and Cody Troutman 74 and Logan Gray 76. Purser ended up third in the individual standings with an even-par 213 total and Hughes tied for 16^th at 224.

UCO also had three players compete as individuals, with Eric Kline shooting 72, Wesley Jackson 73 and Gavin Mastell 74.

The Bronchos return to action at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Championships in Lawrence, Kan. April 20-22.
