UCO Takes On RiverHawks Saturday

Central Oklahoma plays its final regular season road game Saturday when the Bronchos travel to Tahlequah to meet intrastate rival Northeastern State.
 
Tip-off for the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association contest at the NSU Event Center is 1:30 p.m.
 
UCO is 15-10 on the season and sixth in the conference standings at 8-8.  The RiverHawks are 10-13 overall and tied for ninth in the league at 6-10.
 
The Bronchos end the regular season next week with a pair of home games, hosting No. 5-ranked Fort Hays State Thursday and Nebraska-Kearney Saturday on Senior Day.
 
First-round play in the MIAA Post-season Tournament begins Tuesday, March 3.  The top four teams receive first-round byes, while teams 5-8 host teams 9-12 before the final three rounds are played in Kansas City, Mo. March 6-8.
 
SERIES RECORD:  NSU has a 34-22 lead in the rivalry that started in 1977-78 and the teams have met at least twice a season since 1997-98.
 
UCO claimed a 62-47 home victory on Feb. 5 in this year's first meeting for its second straight win over the RiverHawks.
 
ABOUT THE BRONCHOS:  UCO is 7-5 in road games this season and split two away games last week, beating Washburn 75-64 before falling to No. 13 Emporia State 80-67.
 
The Bronchos are averaging 66.6 points a game and giving up 61.5.  UCO leads the conference in free throw percentage (77.4).
 
Senior Kylie Mayes leads a balanced attack with a 10.4 average while shooting a team-high 48.1 percent from the field and she adds 4.4 rebounds a game.
 
Sophomore Olivia Mason chips in 10.0 points, a team-best 5.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.2 steals per contest.  She also tops UCO in 3-pointers made (43) and attempted (118).
 
Junior Julia Mason contributes 9.6 points and 4.5 rebounds a game.
 
ABOUT THE RIVERHAWKS:  NSU, which has lost four of its last five games, is averaging 55.0 points and allowing 62.3.
 
Chelsey Beathard paces the RiverHawks with a 10.3 scoring average.
