UCO Outrun By Lions In Joplin

Bronchos Fall At Missouri Southern Saturday Afternoon In The MIAA

JOPLIN, Mo. – Central Oklahoma let a second-half run get away Saturday afternoon at Missouri Southern and lost 75-57 in the MIAA matchup.
 
UCO is 1-6 on the season and now 0-2 in the MIAA.
 
The Bronchos led by as many as seven points in the first quarter but lost that lead late in the opening frame. UCO trailed the rest of the way but cut the lead to three points with 2:38 remaining in the third quarter. That's when Missouri Southern went on a 9-2 run to end the quarter and a 10-2 run to start the fourth, separating from the Bronchos to pull away for the win.
 
Central Oklahoma shot 24 of 66 from the floor in the game and 4-for-16 from behind the 3-point line. UCO was just 5 of 10 at the free-throw line.
 
Kaitlyn McCarn led UCO with 18 points and Bobbie Fouquet scored 13 to give the Bronchos two in double figures.
 
Peyton Walker added eight points, Nykaiya Dillard scored seven, and Jerney Bennett had five points. Kendrick Baiely, Olivia Quapaw, and Haniya Geretta all scored two points.
 
UCO continues a three-game road trip to begin MIAA play with a matchup Thursday, Dec. 11 at Rogers State in Claremore. The Bronchos return home Dec. 16 to host NAIA Evangel (Mo.) at Hamilton Field House.
