EDMOND (Jan. 31) – Central Oklahoma racked up four falls – three in the first period – and steamrolled Adams State 46-3 Saturday afternoon at Hamilton Field House.

The No. 12-ranked Bronchos lost the opening match at 125 pounds before winning the final nine in bouncing back from Thursday's home loss to Oklahoma City and improving to 6-7 on the season. UCO is back home Sunday afternoon, taking on No. 4 Ouachita Baptist at 2 p.m.

"We wrestled pretty well and were aggressive on the mat in putting guys on their backs," head coach David James said. "It's good any time you can get four falls in a dual and that's what we want to see.

"Tomorrow will be a big challenge for us and I'm anxious to see how our guys react."

The Bronchos got first-period falls from 141 Will Steltzlen, 149 Spencer Rutherford and 184 Caleb Hawes, while Kyle Factor had a second-period pin in the final match at heavyweight.

UCO also got wins from 157 Jeromy Davenport, 174 Colton Gallo and 197 Michael Conner, with 133 Dustin Reed and 165 Chris Watson both picking up forfeits.

The Grizzlies won the opening bout at 125 when third-ranked Jerry Huff toppled Zac D'Amico 8-3, but it was all UCO after that.

Reed's forfeit put the Bronchos in the lead, Steltzlen followed with his fall at the 2:23 mark and Rutherford recorded his seven pin of the season at 1:57 to quickly put UCO on top 18-3.

Davenport racked up four takedowns in rolling to a 10-1 rout for his first major decision of the year and Gallo followed Watson's forfeit win with a 5-1 triumph at 174, clinching that victory with a reverse in the final 30 seconds.

Hawes needed just 1:06 to pick up his fall, Conner had three takedowns in an 8-4 victory at 197 and Factor registered his team-leading 11^th fall of the season 32 seconds into the second period to end the hour-long dual.
