UCO Meets RiverHawks Thursday

Central Oklahoma goes to Tahlequah, Okla. Thursday to take on Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association rival Northeastern State.
 
Tip-off is 5:30 p.m. at the NSU Event Center.
 
The Bronchos are 10-9 on the season and 5-7 in the conference, while the RiverHawks are 9-10 and 6-6.  NSU is seventh and UCO tied for eighth in the league standings with seven games remaining in the regular season.
 
SERIES RECORD:  The RiverHawks a 33-20 lead in the rivalry and have won the last five meetings.  UCO's last win was a 68-60 victory in the second round of the NCAA Division II national tournament in 2011.
 
THE BRONCHOS:  UCO is looking to break a three-game league losing streak.
 
Senior Jill Bryan (13.4 ppg) and sophomore Julia Mason (10.7 ppg) are the only players averaging in double figures for the Bronchos.  Freshman Olivia Mason and senior Britney Morgan average 9.3 points apiece, with O. Mason adding a team-high 6.8 rebounds.
 
Jill Bryan has moved up to 15th on the school's all-time scoring list with 894 points.
 
Morgan is now fifth in career 3-pointers at UCO with 140 while also ranking 19th in career scoring with 866 points.
 
THE RIVERHAWKS:  NSU is second in the MIAA in team defense, giving up just 59.1 points a game.  Fontana Tate leads the team with an 11.6 scoring average.
 
UP NEXT:  UCO travels to Pittsburg, Kan. Saturday afternoon for a rematch with Pittsburg State.  The Gorillas pulled out a 69-66 victory last Saturday in Edmond.
