UCO Resumes Season Wednesday

Central Oklahoma resumes the 2014-15 season Wednesday when the Bronchos host intrastate rival East Central.
 
Game-time for the non-conference game at Hamilton Field House is 1:30 p.m.  Click here for tickets.
 
UCO is 9-3 on the season and 3-1 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association, having won seven of its last eight games.  The Tigers are 8-1 overall and 4-0 in the Great American Conference.
 
UCO returns to league play Saturday with a 1:30 p.m. home contest against Northwest Missouri.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES:  UCO has a 26-20 lead in the rivalry, though this is the first meeting between the two teams since 2010-11.
 
The Bronchos have won the last 11 meetings.
 
ABOUT THE BRONCHOS:  UCO hasn't played since a 79-64 road win over conference foe Missouri Western on Dec. 20.
 
The Bronchos average 73.6 points a game behind a balanced attack and are a perfect 7-0 when scoring 70-plus points.
 
UCO lost leading scorer Haley Weathers to a season-ending knee injury in the final seconds of its Dec. 18 loss to Central Missouri.  Weathers was averaging 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals a game.
 
Sophomore Olivia Mason now leads the team in scoring with 10.8 points a game while adding 4.5 rebounds.  She's made a team-high 25 3-pointers and is shooting 44.6 percent from long range.
 
Senior Kylie Mayes is averaging 10.1 points and 4.1 rebounds a game on 51.1 percent shooting from the field.  Junior Julia Mason chips in 9.8 points and a team-high 6.0 rebounds a contest.
 
ABOUT THE TIGERS:  East Central has won its last four games, including a 65-51 victory over St. Gregory's in its last outing on Dec. 20.
 
The Tigers are averaging 66.2 points a game and allowing just 57.9.
 
Four players are scoring in double figures, led by Dilan Webster (16.4) and Taylor Fischer (12.7).
