EDMOND (Jan. 18) -- Jill Bryan scored 14 second-half points and Central Oklahoma defeated Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association rival Nebraska-Kearney 82-70 Saturday afternoon at Hamilton Field House.

Bryan, a senior from Copan, Okla., finished with 16 points and seven rebounds to lead the Bronchos.  Eleven players scored, with three reaching double figures as UCO had its second-highest scoring game of the season.

The Bronchos improved to 10-6 and 5-4 in the MIAA, while UNK fell to 6-9 and 3-6.

UCO closed out the first half on a 12-0 run to turn a four-point deficit into a 40-32 halftime lead.  Sophomore Whitney Dunn scored six of her 11 first- half points during that spurt and ended the game with 13.

The Lopers got as close as five in the second half at 43-38, but Britney Morgan scored four points in a 7-0 run that extended the lead to 12 (50-38) with 14:29 remaining.

The Bronchos maintained at least an eight-point cushion the rest of the way.

Senior Britney Morgan found numerous driving lanes to the basket in the second half to keep the Lopers at a distance.  Morgan scored 11 of her 14 points in the second half.

Sophomore Julia Mason just missed a double-double, finishing with nine points and a season-high 11 rebounds for the Bronchos.

UCO returns to league action Thursday, traveling to Topeka, Kan. to take on Washburn at 5:30 p.m.
