UCO Hosts No. 23 Tigers Thursday

BRONCHOS HOST TIGERS:  Central Oklahoma continues a four-game Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association homestand Thursday when the Bronchos take on No. 23-ranked Fort Hays State.
 
Game-time at Hamilton Field House is 5:30 p.m.
 
UCO is 9-5 on the season and 4-3 in league play, having won the first two games of its longest homestand of the season.  The Tigers are 11-2 overall and 5-2 in the conference.
 
FHSU is fourth in the MIAA standings, while the Bronchos are tied for sixth.
 
UCO finishes up the homestand Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against Nebraska-Kearney.
 
ABOUT THE SERIES:  FHSU has a 2-1 lead in the short series, winning last 84-78 in Hays, Kan. in the first meeting between the two since the 1990-91 season.
 
ABOUT THE BRONCHOS:  UCO is 5-1 at home this season and has won its last three at Hamilton Field House, including a 70-56 victory over Southwest Baptist last Saturday.
 
Freshman Olivia Mason scored a career-high 18 points to leads four players in double figures in that contest.
 
Senior Jill Bryan tops the teams with a 14.5 scoring average while adding 5.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.0 steals a game.  Sophomore Julia Mason is the only other double figure scorer at 11.1 to go with 5.6 rebounds a contest.
 
Senior Britney Morgan adds 9.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists, while Oliva Mason chips in 9.1 points and a team-high 6.2 rebounds.  Morgan and O. Mason are both averaging 11.3 points an outing in conference games only.
 
Jill Bryan has moved into 19th place on UCO's career scoring list with 842 points.  Morgan has 820 points, needing 18 more to break into the top-20.

ABOUT THE TIGERS:  FHSU has scored 90-plus points in winning its last three games and the Tigers are averaging a conference-best 87.6 points a contest, having eclipsed the 100-point mark three times.
 
Kate Lehman paces FHSU with a 15.4 scoring average while also leading the MIAA in rebounding (11.9), blocked shots (5.7) and field goal percentage (59.7).  Chelsea Mason adds 15.3 points and Katelyn Edwards 14.1.
