EDMOND (Nov. 7) –
Seth Heckart hit two of four straight 3-point bombs Central Oklahoma dropped during a 20-2 run that turned the game around and the Bronchos went on to roll over an Alumni team 115-96 Thursday night at Hamilton Field House.

UCO trailed 21-17 midway through the first half before breaking loose with its decisive scoring spurt.  Nic Combs had six of the first eight points in that run and gave the Bronchos the lead for good with a layup at the 7:45 mark before the outside shooting display started.

Cal Andrews got it started with a 3-pointer from the corner, Josh Gibbs followed with a trey from the wing and Heckart swished back-to-back long-range offerings to finish it and push UCO's lead to 37-23.

The Bronchos went on to a 53-36 halftime lead and pushed its advantage to 36 (96-60) in the second half before the Alumni rallied to get within the final 19-point margin.

Heckart led a balanced UCO attack, hitting 5-of-6 3-point tries in a 17-point outing.  Jacob Richardson made 7-of-11 shots in scoring 16 points, Andrews added 13 and Garrett Hermanski and Devante Moore had 10 apiece.

Sam Belt, an All-American on UCO's 2008 Elite Eight team, led the Alumni with 18 points and nine rebounds.  D.J. Lemons added 13 points, Reggie Paul 12 and Spencer Smith 10.

Shane Carroll of the Alumni team had the play of the night, soaring in for a spectacular one-hand dunk off a missed shot midway through the second half for two of his seven points.

The Bronchos make their official 2013-14 debut next Tuesday, hosting Southwestern Christian at 7 p.m.
