ST. CHARLES, Mo. (Jan. 25) – Jordan Basks and Cody Dauphin recorded first-period falls as No. 3-ranked Central Oklahoma flattened Lindenwood 35-6 here Friday night in a Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association mismatch.
 
The Bronchos won nine of the 10 matches in rolling to their fourth straight win, improving to 8-1 on the season and 3-0 in the league.  The Lions fell to 2-5 and 1-2.
 
Cody Dauphin needed just 2:11 to pick up his fourth straight first-period pin in the final match of the night at heavyweight, while Basks took only 2:14 to finish off his 13th consecutive win at 149.
 
“We took care of business and came out with a good conference win on the road,” UCO coach David James said.  “Overall it was a good effort on our part and we continue to make good progress, but we just need to keep moving forward.”
 
The Bronchos won the first five matches to quickly remove all doubt in the outcome of the dual, with Ryan Brooks using a takedown and near-fall in the third period to pull out a 5-1 win in the opening bout at 125.
 
Casy Rowell continued to roll at 133, cruising to a 17-2 technical fall for his 17th win in a row, and Ben Morgan followed with a wild 16-11 victory at 141.
 
Basks came through with his opening-period fall in the next match and Cory Dauphin's second-period takedown was the difference in a 3-1 win at 157 before the Lions got their lone win at 165 with a second-period pin.
 
UCO responded by taking the last four matches, with 174 Kelly Henderson, 184 Tanner Keck and 197 Znick Ferrell all picking up decisions before Cody Dauphin's fall capped the rout.
 
The Bronchos go back on the road to round out their MIAA schedule next week, traveling to Truman State Wednesday and Central Missouri Thursday.
