ARKADELPHIA, Ark. (Jan. 18) – Cory Dauphin's third-period pin highlighted six bonus-point wins that carried No. 3-ranked Central Oklahoma to a 34-13 rout of No. 20 Ouachita Baptist here Friday night.

The Bronchos, who made the long drive here Friday morning after a last-match 22-16 home win over defending national champion Nebraska-Kearney Thursday night, had three falls, a technical fall and two major decisions among their seven wins.

Dauphin had the biggest of those, sticking No. 3-ranked Bobby Williams at the 5:49 mark in their 157-pound showdown.  UCO also got falls from 165 Chris Watson and heavyweight Cody Dauphin, while 133 Casy Rowell had a technical fall and 149 Jordan Basks and 197 Znick Ferrell major decisions.

“It wasn't an ideal situation to go on the road right after a home match, but that's what we had to do and maybe it will help toughen us up a little,” said UCO coach David James, whose team improved to 6-1.  “We won seven matches with five bonus and that's always good.  We're glad to get the win and are ready to move on to next week.”

The Bronchos trailed 9-5 after the first three matches, with Rowell's 16-0 domination at 133 pounds sandwiched between a loss at 125 and fall at 141, but it was all UCO after that.

Basks started a four-match winning streak with a 13-3 major decision at 149, Dauphin cradled up Williams for the third-period pin at 157 and Watson followed with a first-period fall before 174 Kelly Henderson's 10-5 ended the streak to give the Bronchos a 23-9 lead.

The Tigers got their final win at 184, but UCO ended the dual with Znick's 10-2 major decision and Dauphin's second straight first-period fall.

The Bronchos will be back in action Tuesday, hosting near-by rival Oklahoma City at 7 p.m.
