Bronchos Third After First Round

FLORENCE, Ala. (May 16) – Andrew Green fired a one-under-par 71 to lead No. 2-ranked Central Oklahoma to a third-place standing after the first day of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships here Monday.

The Bronchos shot a seven-over-par 295 and trail opening-day leader Lynn by just four shots. Cal State-Monterey Bay is second at 294, with Central Missouri and Fort Lewis tied for fourth behind UCO at 296.

Second-round play begins at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday at the rugged par-72 the Robert Trent Jones at the Shoals Fighting Joe Course, with the Bronchos set to go off the No. 10 tee starting at 12:50 p.m. Click here to follow the live scoring.

The top-eight teams in the 20-team field after 54 holes advance to the match play portion of the tournament that will determine the national champion.

Green's 71 has him tied for ninth in the individual standings, just two shots behind leaders Ricardo Gouveia of Lynn and Oskar Nystrom of CSU-Monterey Bay.

The Bronchos also got a one-over 73 from Chris Muriana, while Baer Aneshansley shot 74, Dillon Rust 77 and Josh Creel 82.
