Biography

Senior veteran who has filled a starting role throughout most of his career . . . Outstanding athlete with a solid short game and a team leader looking to finish with a flourish . . . Took over a starting berth midway through his freshman year in 2007-08 and stayed there through the end of the 2008-09 campaign . . . Sat out a redshirt year in 2009-10 and came back better than ever last year.

Fall 2012:  Helped lead UCO to the team title in all five tournaments while putting together a 72.5 average . . . Had three top-five finishes and shot under par in two events . . . Tied for fourth at the Lion Fall Invitational with a four-under 138 total after rounds of 70-68 and shot 70-69 to come in fifth at the Charles Coody Invitational at five-under 139 . . . Also placed fourth in the Dornick Hills Classic at six-over 216 after closing with an even-par 70.

2010-11:  Played in 12 of UCO's 13 tournaments and finished with a 73.9 average for 35 rounds in earning honorable mention All-America honors . . . Had seven top-20 finishes, including two in the top five . . . Best outing was a third-place showing at the UCO/KickingBird after a final-round 68 and finished fifth in the 61st SoCal Intercollegiate Championships . . . Shot 72-73 on the final two days of the Lone Star Conference Tournament to help the Bronchos rally to that team title . . . Fired a career-best 67 in the final round of the NCAA Division II national tournament to lead UCO to a third-place finish in the stroke-play portion of that event.

2009-10:  Sat out a redshirt year.

2008-09:  Played in all 12 tournaments and had a solid 74.8 scoring average in picking up honorable mention All-Lone Star Conference recognition . . . Placed in the top 30 in eight events, capped by a championship effort at the Newman Invitational in the fall with rounds of 69-72 for a three-under-par 141 total . . . Tied for ninth in the LS Tournament at four-under 212, highlighted by a season-low 68 in the first round . . . Advanced to the semifinals in the Oklahoma Golf Association Match-Play State Championship during the summer of 2009.

2007-08:  Earned a starting role midway through the spring season and finished with a solid 74.6 average while playing in eight tournaments . . . Saw action in six spring events and had three top-10 finishes, capped by a runner-up showing in the UCO/KickingBird Classic with rounds of 70-75-68 for a 213 total . . . Led the team with a 10th-place tie in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional, finishing at 219 with rounds of 74-71-74 . . . Also tied for 10th at the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invitational with a one-under-par 215 total.

High School:  Enjoyed a stellar career at Clinton High School as a multi-sport standout . . . Helped lead the Red Tornadoes to three Class 4A state golf championships and claimed All-State recognition as a senior after finishing runner-up as an individual . . . Member of three state championship football squads and was named District 3A-1 Quarterback of the Year.

Personal:  A professional golf management major . . . Sister (Autumn) played basketball at Southwestern Oklahoma . . . Names “Rudy” as his favorite sports movie . . . Lists the Dallas Cowboys as his top professional team . . . Birthdate is March 25, 1988.
