DURANT, Okla. (May 1) --
Central Oklahoma split another Lone Star Conference North Division doubleheader with Southeastern Oklahoma here Saturday and the outcomes were similar to Tuesday's twinbill in Edmond.

The Bronchos scored two runs in the top of the ninth inning to pull out a 4-2 extra-inning triumph in the opener, with SOSU coming back to take the nightcap by an identical 4-2 score. The teams traded 1-0 wins in Tuesday's games, with the second contest going nine innings.

Head coach Genny Stidham picked up her 350th career win with the first-game victory and the Bronchos ended the regular season 29-17 overall and second in the LSC North at 14-8.   UCO will take on Texas Woman's at noon Thursday in the first round of the eight-team LSC Tournament in Durant.

"It was another long day and both games could have gone either way, just like the other day at our place," said Stidham, now 350-242-1 in her 13th year at helm.   "We got a couple of big hits to win the first one and missed some opportunities in the second."

The Savage Storm led 1-0 through three innings of the opener before UCO moved in front with a two-run fourth as Rachel Lowery had an RBI double and Kacie Edwards a solo home run.

SOSU came back with a run in its half of the fourth to tie it at 2-all and it remained deadlocked until the ninth when the Bronchos pushed across a pair of runs.

Kacie Raines started the inning with a lead-off walk and went to second on Brittany Geter's sacrifice bunt before scoring the go-ahead run on a double by Brittany Weaver, who was thrown out at third.  Megan Bentley then singled, went to second on an intentional walk to Molly Shivers and came home on Lowery's single down the line.

The Savage Storm put a pair of runners on base with one out in the bottom of the ninth before Rachael Steverson got the final two outs to end the game.

Steverson picked up the pitching win in relief of Shivers, allowing just one hit and one walk while striking out six in going the final four innings.  Lowery, Edwards, Weaver, Bentley and Kelsey Tiger had two hits apiece in an 11-hit attack.

SOSU took control early in the second game, pushing across three runs in the bottom of the first. The Bronchos got on the board in the third on Edwards' run-scoring single to make it 3-1, with the Savage Storm upping the lead to 4-1 in the bottom of the third.

UCO tried to rally in the seventh, getting an RBI single from Edwards to make it 4-2 and loading the bases with one out before a double play ended the threat and the game.

Shivers and Bentley had two hits each for the Bronchos.
