EDMOND (Jan. 7) –
Dauntae Williams scored six points in a seven-second span to put Central Oklahoma in control in the late stages of the first half and the streaking Bronchos went on to dismantle Eastern New Mexico 105-76 Thursday night at Hamilton Field House.

Williams' outburst pushed a 29-24 UCO lead to 35-24 with 5:37 left in the half and ENMU got no closer than nine the rest of the way as the Bronchos steadily pulled away in winning for the sixth time in a row.

UCO, which improved to 10-4 with its 30th win in the last 32 home games, ends a three-game homestand Saturday afternoon with a 4 p.m. contest against West Texas A&M.

“We played okay and didn't make a lot of mistakes,” head coach Terry Evans said.  “Everybody's contributing and we're playing good team basketball right now, but we've still got a lot of work to do.”

The Bronchos committed a season-low seven turnovers and shot a solid 48.6 percent (36-of-74) from the field despite making just 9-of-30 attempts (30.0 percent) from 3-point range.

Williams flirted with a triple-double for the second straight game before coming up short, finishing with 24 points, eight assists and seven rebounds while hitting 6-of-8 shots with a pair of treys and all 10 free throw tries.

Tyler Phillips scored 15 points, Eric Cazenave had 12 points, seven rebounds and five assists in becoming the 35th player in school history with 1,000 career points and Blake Livingston added 12 points off the bench.  All 11 players scored for the Bronchos.

UCO grabbed an eight-point lead at 15-7 five minutes into the game on a Livingston layup, but the Greyhounds came back with a 12-1 run to go on top 19-16 at the 12:32 mark.  The Bronchos answered quickly, scoring five straight points to take the lead for good at 21-19 on a Phillips 3-pointer.

It was 29-24 a few minutes later when Williams' quick-strike six-point run really put UCO in control.  The junior guard scored on a breakaway layup after making a steal at 5:44 and ENMU was called for an intentional foul, with Williams adding two free throws.  He was fouled again on the ensuing play and made two more foul shots at 5:37 to push the lead to 35-24.

The Bronchos kept the lead in double digits the rest of the half, took a 48-35 advantage into intermission on Carl Curry's layup with seven seconds left and then put the game away early in the second half.

Cazenave scored five points in a 9-0 spurt to open the second half to push the lead to 22 (57-35) and the Greyhounds got no closer than 16 the rest of the way.
