KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma has been tabbed for a fifth-place finish in the 2026 MIAA volleyball coaches' poll that was released by the league office Monday.

The Bronchos finished with 104 points in voting of the conference's 13 head coaches. Nebraska-Kearney and Washburn shared the top spot with 134 points apiece after tying for the title last year.

Missouri Western came in third with 123 points, followed by Emporia State (107), UCO, Central Missouri (90), Pittsburg State (81), Fort Hays State (63), Northwest Missouri (57), Missouri Southern (46), Arkansas-Fort Smith (40), Newman (23) and Northeastern State (12).

Central tied for fourth in last year's regular season standings, then beat Emporia in the MIAA Volleyball Championship quarterfinals before falling to eventual champion UNK in the semifinals.

The Bronchos of 14th-year head coach Edgar Miraku ended up 27-6 overall last year for their third straight 25-win season and second consecutive national tournament appearance. UCO, ranked 12th in the AVCA Division II preseason poll, opens the 2026 campaign Thursday with the first of four matches in the Mulerider Volleyball Tournament in Magnolia, Arkansas.
