Central Falls In MIAA Opener

Bronchos Lose At Missouri Western 10-0 In Seven-Inning Run-Rule

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Central Oklahoma fell behind early and never recovered in a 10-0 run-rule loss at Missouri Western Thursday afternoon.
 
The Bronchos are 9-6 now on the season after their third consecutive loss. UCO is 0-1 in league play. Central and Mo. West will play Friday at 2 p.m. and Saturday at 1 p.m. to wrap up the three-game series.
 
UCO had two singles in the top of the first but left both runners on base. The Bronchos left runners on in all but one inning, eight total, as Central scattered seven hits in the game but couldn't produce any runs.
 
Logan Taylor got the start for the Bronchos and got through the first without concession and only gave up one in the second. He gave up two more in the third and was replaced by Gage Norvell.
 
Missouri Western got two more off Kamden Thompson in the fifth, then four off Trent Gerber in the sixth, and the 10th run in the bottom of the seventh off John Demcher.
 
Colton Ayres had two hits for the Bronchos including a double – the only extra-base hit for Central on the day. Luke Stout, Drake Lee, Noah Smallwood, Carson Taylor, and Cade Mills all had one hit each.
