Bronchos Welcome 21 Teams To Golf Club of Edmond

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma hosts the Grace Shin Invitational presented by Visit Edmond Monday and Tuesday at the Golf Club of Edmond.

UCO is competing for the third week in a row. The Bronchos will also be back on the course the next two weeks to wrap up the five-tournament fall schedule.

The Bronchos will tee off a 9 a.m. in a shotgun start among 21 teams competing this week in Edmond.

The UCO lineup consists of Layne Ailshie, Reagan Plank, Ivanna Gerez, Scarlet Sturch, and Estela Castillo. The Bronchos also have three players competing as individuals in Faith Principato, Josey Cavitt, and MaKaylee Cowan.

The trio of individuals are making their season debuts while the five in the lineup are playing their third tournament each this season.

Sturch led the Bronchos in the opener with a sixth-place finish shooting 143 (71-72). Gerez posted a 145 and Ailshie and Plank both shot 146 two weeks ago. Castillo shot a 160 in her season debut.

The Bronchos fell on harder times last week in Texas. Ailshie's 243 led the group in the 54-hole event. Sturch and Plank both shot 245, Gerez 250, and Castillo 256.

Central Oklahoma heads to Kearney, Nebraska for the Regional Preview Oct. 11-13 at Meadowlark Hills Golf Club, the sight of the NCAA Central Region Championships in May. UCO wraps up the fall with the Midwestern Invite in Wichita Falls, Texas Oct. 19-20.
