UCO Leads The Mule In Warrensburg

Central Oklahoma Posted 16-Under-Par Through First Two Rounds

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Central Oklahoma made two trips around Mules National Monday and the 11th-ranked Bronchos have an 11-shot lead after posting a 16-under-par 544.

UCO shot a 6-under 274 in the first round Monday morning, then recorded a 10-under 270 in the second round. Host Central Missouri is in second place with a 36-hole 555. Southwestern Oklahoma State (569) is third while Dallas Baptist and Missouri S&T (575) are tied for fourth.

"We had a good day all around," UCO head men's coach Derrick Thompson said. "We were focused and ready to play and did a great job. But we still have to finish the tournament. We need to be more focused tomorrow."

Baylor Bostick led Central Oklahoma and the field with a 6-under-par 134 on Monday. He fired back-to-back rounds of 67 to take the lead into the final round. Teammate Bryant Polhill is two shots back with a 4-under 136 after rounds of 66 & 70.

Karsten Paciotti and Nick Canales are both tied for sixth place after shooting 2-under 138s on Monday to give UCO four of the best scores of the day. Paciotti shot an even-par 70 and a 2-under 68 while Canales responded from a 1-over 71 with a 3-under 67 in the afternoon.

UCO's fifth, Rhett Hughes, had a tough first round and shot 9-over par but helped the Bronchos in the second round with a 2-under 68.

Central Oklahoma will tee off at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in the final round. The Bronchos are seeking to win The Mule for the second year in a row after taking top honors last September.
